Preparedness in the EU emergency medical care: demonstration event
We are delighted to announce that the NO-FEAR partner, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is organizing the First Demonstration of the NO-FEAR project, that will take place on November 22, 2019. The NO-FEAR activities will be held back-to-back alongside “Trauma Oggi”, an Annual Congress organized within the Gemelli Hospital, Rome.
NO-FEAR is an EU-funded 5-year Coordination and Support Action project that tackles the emerging threats, security issues and social changes in the EU emergency medical care.
It works towards bringing together two networks:
- a practitioners, decision and policymakers network
- a supplier and academia network
so as to enhance the response to security-related incidents. Furthermore, NO-FEAR supports this multi-disciplinary, multi-national, and multi-sectorial collaboration providing virtual tools, including the NO-FEAR platform, and works to facilitate collaboration between the network members, hosting networking events every six months.
Within NO-FEAR, Trilateral Research leads the development of the communication and exploitation of the project to raise awareness and maximise its impact.
The demonstration event will see activities starting on the evening of 21st of November with a Nocturnal Hospital Exercise, where selected tools showcased at the Demonstration will be used by the hospital staff, including (but not restricted to) Ouvry, Streamwide, Fraunhoffer IVI, LESS AS, Inovytec and Biobeat. The exercise is open to NO-FEAR partners and stakeholders as well as to the Trauma Oggi participants.
The Demonstration on 22nd November, will focus on 2 main issues: the handover of the patients between EMS and Hospital and Hospital preparedness in case of “uncertain” events, such as chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear (CBRN) defence.
The first half of the demonstration will be dedicated to the handover issue, whilst the afternoon will be dedicated to hospital preparedness. Both sessions will include tool presentations and gap analysis facilitated by relevant invited speakers, and participants will be given the possibility to attend two hands-on sessions.
Other EU projects will also be given the chance to present more ongoing activities and results, as well as their link with the NO-FEAR activities.
The NO-FEAR project is always looking to expand its networks of practitioners, decision and policymakers suppliers and academia. To find out more about the project and this research area please contact our team:
