Tim Jacquemard

Tim Jacquemard is a Research Analyst at Trilateral Research.

Tim is currently the project lead for the European Commission-funded project TRUST aWARE. He also supports work on the aqua3S project. He is part of the Applied Research and Innovation team.

His previous work includes research into the governance and regulation of eHealth applications for chronic neurological diseases at FutureNeuro SFI Centre. In this position, he was awarded funding to identify the social and ethical implications of eHealth within Ireland for the Oireachtas Library and Research Service. Prior to this, Tim was a researcher working on several projects related to the legal, social and ethical aspects of digitalisation at the Rathenau Institute – a research institute specialised in technology assessment. Besides his experiences in research, Tim has also worked as a business analyst on IT projects in fund accounting.

Research Background

Tim holds a PhD in Applied Ethics from Dublin City University, and an MA (Cum Laude) and BA in Philosophy from the University of Amsterdam. His PhD was funded by CLARITY – Centre for Sensor Web technologies at the Dublin City University. For his PhD, he analysed the ethics of emerging technologies developed in the centre.

His research background is in applied ethics, governance of digital technology, and technology assessment. In addition to expertise in privacy and ethics, he brings expertise related to the healthcare sector. He has worked with a diverse set of academic and industry partners, non-profit organisations and government agencies.

Tim has published in several journals, authored reports and deliverables, and has disseminated his work at academic conferences and in public settings
