Her area of expertise is Science Communication and AI Ethics. She is interested in the ethical implications of implementing new technologies, and is eager to make research in this field more accessible to the general public.
Prior to joining Trilateral Research, Nuala held previous communications roles in an architecture firm and a tech start-up. She also has experience working as a consultant for an Edinburgh-based firm focused on AI Ethics.
Nuala has an interdisciplinary academic background. She holds a BA Combined Honors in History of Science & Technology and Philosophy with a Minor in Mathematics from the University of King’s College, and an MSc Cognition in Science & Society from the University of Edinburgh where her research considered if, and how we can determine the responsibility-loci for autonomous systems.
