Her current focus is on the EC funded CC-driver project, where she looks at the standardization aspects. Beyond CC-Driver, Gabriella serves as the standards and standardization development expert within Trilateral Research.
Gabriella is interested in topics related to Artificial Intelligence, AI ethics, algorithmic bias, fairness & accountability, privacy and surveillance, cybersecurity and information security, immersive technologies, risk management of socio-technical systems, standards and the standardization development process.
Gabriella has developed an interdisciplinary research background. She holds an LLB in Law from the University of Leicester and recently completed a Master’s in Public Administration in Science, Engineering & Public Policy, specialising in Digital Technologies and Policy at University College London. Her most recent research activity focused on the regulatory and standardization challenges of intelligent and connected medical devices. Her previous research activities have been at the intersection of law, technology, and policy.
She is a committee member of the British Standards Institution (BSI) technical committee ART/1 – Artificial Intelligence, IST/31 – Computer graphics, image processing and environmental data representation and IST/ 33 – Information Security, Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection. In addition, Gabriella is also a technical committee member at ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42 (Artificial Intelligence) WG 3 on Trustworthiness and ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42/JWG 1 on Governance Implications of AI.
