Policy reform has always relied on targeted research to demonstrate the need for changes to existing rules and guide policy-makers towards interventions that will be effective. Research can also assist policy-makers to augment the benefits of policy changes and minimise any potential unintended impacts, including impacts on vulnerable populations or emerging industrial sectors. Our policy research and analysis will present policy-makers with useful, practical and solution-based recommendations to address policy concerns and issues and develop intervention strategies.
Trilateral’s approach to policy research is tailored to the needs of our clients and projects. Trilateral has engaged with policy-makers on a range of topics at the international, EU and national level on issues including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data protection, ethics assessment and ethical impact assessment, human trafficking, ICT, privacy impact assessment, privacy seals, surveillance, and water security standards. We can assist in policy monitoring, policy research and evaluation (including options analysis), producing guidance and recommendations for interventions (reports, white papers, policy briefs). We can also help create impact by feeding research into policy consultations. Our uniqueness lies in our ability to understand policy dimensions from a multi-disciplinary perspective.
