We deliver bespoke, interdisciplinary services to clients in the public and private sectors. Trilateral is recruiting for a Research Impact Officer and/or Internship (depending on experience) to join our communications and marketing team.


The successful candidate will focus on:

Project-specific communications and dissemination activities, working with partners to develop communication and dissemination strategies and their implementation for Horizon 2020 innovation projects supporting impact efforts.

The candidate will have the ability to manage the processes to achieve effective dissemination and communication, ultimately leading to a strong impact.

The candidate should have an understanding of contemporary communication and marketing channels for research and industry purposes. The candidate should have broad experience in developing communication and marketing materials (e.g., websites, social media, blogs, newsletters, etc.) and campaigns.

It would be key to develop a good understanding of the communication role in a Research and Development context especially, but not only, within the European Innovation Programmes.

Strong analytical skills are essential as the candidate will be required to monitor and report about the projects’ impact. It will also be crucial to use research outputs to contribute to the wider Trilateral corporate communications strategy so as to enhance Trilateral’s reputation and profile.

The post-holder will be expected to liaise with staff members and external organisations (project partners and clients across the EU and internationally) to deliver excellent leadership in communication and dissemination activities, often with short and demanding deadlines.


Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Generating content for communication and marketing materials (e.g., posters, brochures, press releases, newsletters).
  • Sourcing ideas, commissioning, writing and editing blog posts to raise awareness of the expertise and research developed at Trilateral Research.
  • Management and content development for social media channels.
  • Management and content development for websites (using standard content editors such as WordPress).
  • Development of communication and dissemination strategies and plans, and corresponding monitoring and management of associated activities.
  • Working with external partners to set up and manage the processes needed to effectively implement the dissemination and communications activities.
  • Attending and/or presenting at project meetings, conferences and workshops, involving occasional travel in the EU.
  • Writing reports showcasing the impact achieved.



  • Candidates will be studying for or will have completed a Master’s Degree.
  • Candidates will have a qualification or experience in a relevant field (e.g., digital marketing and research/science communications). An interest in innovation, new technologies and/or in social science would be an advantage. Candidates should have strong, demonstrable writing skills and preferably will have already published news items, magazine articles and other popular press materials.
  • Proven experience in website content management and development.
  • Proven experience in social media management.

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Hours: Full Time

Contract Type: Fixed Term/Internship depending on experience

Location: This position is open to candidates based in the UK, Ireland or other European countries.
