We are looking for a Research Accountant /Finance Officer to work in our London office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountancy professional with experience in working with EC grants funding to develop their career within the private sector.


Specific duties of the position include:

  • Ensure accurate financial records for H2020 projects
  • Develop timely and accurate claims submissions for H2020 projects
  • Responsible for expenses review and approval process related to projects
  • Research accounting support (reporting, queries and audits)
  • Assist with the planning and forecasting for grant-related expenditures
  • Responsible for maintenance of all financial files/records for H2020 projects
  • Provide regular financial reports and hold regular financial review meetings with project research leads
  • Identify and resolve under or overspends versus the awarded research budget
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of financial elements of funder Terms & Conditions and provide advice to assigned budget holders on compliance issues


Preferred candidates will meet the following standard of qualification and competencies:

  • Previous experience (1-2 years minimum) with the claims process for European Commission funding streams (H2020 and/or FP7) is essential
  • Previous experience working in various grants/funding roles essential
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualification or equivalent (candidates with relevant experience will be considered)
  • 2+ years working within EC grants administration
  • Customer-focused experience and highly detailed oriented
  • Use of computer and accounting packages including Microsoft Office including intermediate/advanced Excel skills essential
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to stakeholders outside the Finance team
  • English writing skills essential.
