Information Security Officer

We are seeking to engage an Information Security Officer to ensure cyber security standards within the organisation.

The primary responsibilities and expectations of this role include:
  • Work within corporation administration to develop, implement and monitor cyber security standards, policies, and compliance for the organisation.
  • Document current state of the system and communicate policies, queries/ issues, vulnerabilities
  • Identify and develop areas where information security policies and procedures require creation or update; confer with management, developers and other business stakeholders to identify security standards for data, software and hardware within organisation.
  • Propose and implement effective technology solutions that ensure internal and external information security in line with Cyber Essentials Plus and working towards relevant ISO standards such as ISO27001, ISO 31000, and ISO 27005.
  • Plan, design and audit policies and procedures which safeguard the integrity of access to systems and electronic information in order to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorised modification, destruction, or disclosure.
  • Formulate integrated cyber security Statement of Procedures (SOPs) drawing on different IT security and cyber security policies and incorporating ISO/BSI Standard documents where appropriate.
  • Identify and install suitable hardware and software to ensure appropriate cyber security compliance of all data and systems across the organisation.
  • Monitor, report on and evaluate implementation of standards across the organisation.
  • Oversee and implement policies, and standards, including audits, to ensure IT systems are securely operated, and provide periodic reporting and updates as required
  • Provide education, awareness and training on IT security and cyber security to organisational members.
  • Mature the organisations risk management framework, ensuring that security risks are identified, measured and assessed, reported and monitored.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of Service Level Agreements and Operating Level Agreements.
  • Develop security procedures, checks and regularly backup crucial information to cloud-based devices – namely: SharePoint, Confluence, Jira, Microsoft, and other systems as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement appropriate disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Ensure robust network security for in-office and remotely connected staff.
Basic Qualifications required for this role:
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, IT systems security or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with networking concepts, protocols and services.
  • Experience of working in a similar role for 2-3 years.
  • Demonstrable experience in meeting Cyber Essential Plus certification.
  • Experience of working with and managing SharePoint.
  • Experience of working with and managing security controls for Mac OSX, Windows/Linux.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders across the organisation.

Location: This position is open to candidates based in the UK

Salary: Commensurate with experience
