We are seeking to engage a Data Scientist & Innovation Manager


As we move from client-funded innovation development work into the provision of production systems for our public-sector clients, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Scientist with 2-5 years of leadership and managerial experience. While our work is exciting from a technical standpoint, it is also something you can be proud to contribute to – as we work to address important complex societal problems through the use of data-driven analysis and decision making.

The role requires the successful candidate to:

  • Lead a technical team and provide both line management for and technical expertise to create new approaches to addressing key societal problems through creative data-driven insights and in an interdisciplinary manner when required.
  • Lead the design and development of software, data analysis and visualisation tools for public and private clients. You will need to mentor others as well as roll up your sleeves to contribute to the work.
  • Oversee and participate in all aspects of data curation and management across the data lifecycle.
  • You will have the opportunity to work on a range of emerging research projects, and you will act as technical lead in writing proposals for grants-based or client-based funding.
  • Participate in product strategy meetings to help guide the overall direction of the product, as well as participate in Product Management processes to incorporate inter-disciplinary insights into Product Development.
  • The role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, flexibility, and creativity.


Qualifications and skills:


  • PhD in Data Science
  • 2-5 years of experience in a Data Scientist role
  • 2-3 years of experience in a management capacity
  • Experience in a client engagement capacity
