We deliver bespoke, multi-disciplinary services to clients in the public and private sectors.

Trilateral is recruiting for a Data Protection Advisor, with expertise and experience in relation to data protection compliance, to join our DPO team. The candidate should have sound knowledge of European data protection legislation, notably the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), national Data Protection Legislation and the draft e-Privacy Regulation.


Key responsibilities

  • Executing DPO support work and GDPR compliance efforts required by clients including:
  • Providing outsourced DPO and DPO Assist services to clients and managing client relationships, including tasks such as developing consent and privacy notices, managing DSARs and guiding clients through personal data breaches
  • GDPR compliance activities including data protection impact assessments, GDPR compliance audits, gap analyses, data mapping services to aid in addressing risk management issues and complying with GDPR requirements
    • Writing briefs for clients on above topic areas
  • Business development tasks, including developing proposals and bids for new projects
  • Attending and presenting at client meetings, as required


Skills and experience

  • An LLM or other relevant postgraduate qualification
  • Thorough working knowledge of UK or Irish and EU data protection legislation (including GDPR); knowledge of national data protection legislation for other EU countries is a plus
  • Knowledge and proven experience in the areas of some or all of the following:
    • data protection,
    • data privacy,
    • data governance,
    • auditing, compliance,
    • information security and/or
    • risk management
  • Ability to analyse legislative requirements and translate these into organisational practices and solutions
  • Awareness of information systems and databases to determine how processes need to be developed
  • Project management skills, a proven track record of leading projects to successful completion
  • Proven client management skills and experience
  • CIPP/E or other GDPR compliance certifications preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of experience

References are required, and the salary offered will be commensurate with education and professional experience.


Location: London UK, Waterford IE or other UK/IE locations (remote working options available)

Hours: Full-Time/Part-time

Salary: commensurate with experience.

Contract Type: Fixed Term or Permanent
